It is with deep regret that I have to notify you that Larry passed away on Wednesday, 4/8/2009.
He appreciated all who read his blog since it gave him a sense of purpose during some otherwise trying times.

Can you tell us what happened? This is so sad. I hope he wasn't alone.
Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry. Us sloggers are like family. Goodbye, El Swinger, we'll miss you.
My condolences. I'm going to miss Elswinger.
My condolences to all his friends.
I don't know who you are, Paul, but if you're a friend of Larry's you're a friend of ours. Could you tell us if there is anything we can do for the family? Will there be a service? Is there a charity that Larry would have wanted to support?
RIP Elswinger.
Oh brudder. Sad sad news. I'm gonna go download his Lamb Lies Down bootleg right now.
Did he drop any good loot?
RIP Elswinger, we'll miss you on Slog. Bigtime.
F*CK! I started to get worried after he had not posted for a few days but I am on vacation and figured that I would try to find out how he was after I got back. F*ck F*ck F*ck F*ck F*************************************************************CK!
RIP Larry. Paul, please leave what happened, or come into the U-District Pagliacci and ask for Jason. I'll be back Friday the
17th.
Goodbye Larry. You'll be missed.
~Jason
Dear Paul,
I don't know how to get in touch with you...I am Larry's Aunt Jeannette. I am so sad to find out he has passed away. Please email me at tailwheel@swat.coop so I can call you.
Jeannette
RIP, Larry. Your friends at The Stranger will miss you deeply, and we thank you for all your thoughtful contributions over the years.
For Larry's other readers, there's a thread of condolences and good wishes going on Slog as well.
I am so sorry to hear of your passing Larry, I had just discovered your blog recently...
I hope you find your Bageldog as well as the peace you deserve! R.I.P. Larry........
Peace to elswinger and his friends. I only knew him through slog but always appreciated his contributions. He was one of the good ones, who shared the best part of himself with us online.
Is anyone planning an obituary? I just read the post linked below, and I left a comment urging the Stranger to do a proper obit for him. Even a little something published in the Times would be great. I would be willing to throw some money in for that. I also donated to the NW Kidney Center in his memory.
Did You Know?
How did this happen so fast?
My condolences to Larry's friends.
May you rest in peace, Larry. My condolences to Aunt Jeanette, Paul, Jason, and all the rest of you who were lucky enough to know him in person.
This blog has actually changed my life for the better, and I will miss it. As a 40-something "disabled" former Seattle nursing home resident, I learned how NOT to sit around feeling sorry for myself through reading his posts and encouraging correspondence. Peace.
